Historie Roden - Het lidmaatschap van de Historische vereniging ROON. Het lidmaatschap van de Historische vereniging ROON, houdt gelijke tred met het verenigingsjaar. Dit begint op 1 september en eindigt op 31 augustus. Indien van toepassing ontvangt u hierbij de reeds, in dit verenigingsjaar, verschenen uitgaven van ons tijdschrift ROON. Dit tijdschrift verschijnt 4 x per jaar (september, december, februari en april). De redactie van ons tijdschrift geholpen door een team van vaste medewerkers staat borg voor interessante artikelen. Over, hoe kan het ook anders met een Historische vereniging, diverse wetenswaardigheden uit vervlogen tijden waarin ook de armoede en slechte woonomstandigheden belicht worden. Deze artikelen zijn rijkelijk voorzien van oude sfeerfoto's. In ons tijdschrift is ook het verenigingsnieuws opgenomen alsmede een activiteitenkalender. De activiteiten vinden maandelijks plaats, op maandagavonden in de perioden september t/m november en januari t/m april. Het bijwonen van deze Roneraovonds wordt door onze leden als gezellig en leerzaam ervaren. Onze vereniging heeft ook de beschikking over een eigen archief met stukken van historische en genealogische waarde. Dit archief is gevestigd op de eerste etage, in de bibliotheek aan de Meester Apothekerstraat 13 te Roden. Iedere dinsdagmiddag in de periode september t/m mei, treft u hier een enthousiaste groep vrijwilligers aan die zich o.a. bezig houden met het rubriceren van boekwerken, tijdschriften, krantenartikelen, foto's en dia's. Hier kunt u ook terecht met al uw vragen over, bijvoorbeeld oude foto's. Maar ook over genealogie. Voorts stimuleert de vereniging, het uitgeven van fotoboeken en genealogische publicaties en heeft deze ook te koop. Kortom er is voor elk wat wils.
